More about this year's Zwanze beers, from Jean Van Roy of Cantillon:
We worked with three young men who began producing vermouth in the traditional way four years ago under the name Vermouth Sullivan. Paul, Florian, and Vincent created a different elixir for each of the two Zwanze Cantillon beers. Both beers have an alcohol content of 7%. The name Artémis was chosen for this beer because of its connection with absinthe, or Artemisia, a plant that is an essential ingredient in the herbal, plant and root infusions used to make Vermouth. Artémis is the goddess of hunting and nature in Greek mythology
Artémis La Blanche is a blend of an elixir made from gentian, coriander, rhubarb root, juniper, sage, angelica, wormwood, and many other herbs blended with Lambic.
Artémis La Rouge is a blend of an elixir made from verbena, marjoram, rose, apple, curry plant, wormwood, and many other herbs, blended with Kriek.
