A hilarious adventure that tells the story of a love affair between Tony Kirby Jr., son of a wealthy banker, and Alice Sycamore, a young woman from an eccentric but loving family. The Sycamore family is a collection of quirky individuals, including Grandpa Martin, who lives a carefree life despite his family's financial struggles. When Tony proposes, Alice is faced with the challenge of introducing her family to the snobbish Kirbys, leading to a clash of lifestyles and values. The play explores themes of wealth, family, and the pursuit of happiness, with a humorous and heartwarming portrayal of the Sycamore family's eccentricities.
You Can’t Take It With You opened on Broadway at the Booth Theatre on December 14, 1936. A smash hit, the show ran for 838 performances and returned to Broadway five times, most recently in 2014. That production, directed by Scott Ellis, earned the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress for Annaleigh Ashford as Essie.
Arena Fair Community Theatre never disappoints! You Can't Take it With You was entertaining and brings a meaningful message about life which was very well brought to the stage!
This is one of my all time favorite plays. In this production, I was especially impressed by the ensemble playing---the way the actors interacted with each other. Special kudos to the actors who played Grandpa and Kolenkov (Vogt and Daquila.) Such a bubbly, happy reminder to find the enjoyment in life and not postpone it for the future. I feel very fortunate to have a theater company of this quality in Delaware. Thanks to all involved.

The play was so delightful! Each actor/actress went above and beyond to bring their character to life! What a wonderful message the play gave to everyone. Life is to be enjoyed, families are to be loved with all of their special personalities. Thank you for bringing this play to Delaware.
Great show and actors.
Enjoyed the play. 1st act was slow but the second one picked up quite a bit.
Job well done
I am an avid Shakespeare fan, and I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and their clever lines. My curiosity is making me look up some details. I know the theory that Willie did not write the plays, but I am not convinced that Marlowe did. Your coverage raises some valid points. Your lead characters were on their game tonight.
It was great fun! Loved the acting. Suggestion: put the high-back chairs on the other side of the table, low back on the audience side. Hard to see people from the front row. We'll be back for Shawshank!
Always a good time watching the Arena Fair troupe perform. Talented and exciting actors and I enjoyed the play immensely.
