The final girl is the last girl or woman alive to confront the killer. Traditionally, she is virtuous, intelligent, resourceful, sexually unavailable, and avoids the vices of other characters like drugs or promiscuity. This “moral purity” distinguishes her from her peers who fall victim to the horror.
We’re reclaiming the final girl archetype by showcasing films with complex, beguiling, messy female characters who challenge what being a woman on screen means.
