Queers & Beers

It seemed like a pretty cozy, relaxed atmosphere! My friend and I felt a little unsure of where to start or who to talk to, because it seemed like everyone was already in groups. Maybe a table for newcomers or solo people, or a host to help show new people around would be helpful. I appreciate all of the hard work the organizers do to create this queer space, though, and I’m sure the regulars would agree!

So great - love that the food was open late, with plenty of quiet space for chatting and the usual dance space! OK Naledi are pros at getting all of us on the floor! Accessibility was fantastic and no crazy lighting swinging around!

Nice crowd and venue. The music was amazing! I had a lot of fun.

I found the atmosphere challenging for an individual attendee. Most people there seemed to be having after work drinks with their colleagues, so it was not easy to mingle. There was a small minority who came on their own, like myself. I’ve been a few times and it’s usually the same. I would hesitate to go again because the vibe just feels a little off.

As always, Queers and Beers was a fantastic event. Lots of people, and OK Naledi’s performance was a blast.
