FAQ
Do I need a partner?
Nope! Just bring your radiant queer self and be ready to vibe with whatever fabulous person ends up in front of you. We’ll be rotating partners constantly, so by the time the social starts, you’ll have danced with half the room, adopted three new besties, and accidentally joined someone’s polycule... or at least you’ll know who to drag onto the dance floor with zero hesitation and maximum sparkle.
What if I’ve never danced this style before?
Our lesson is for complete beginners. If you already know the basics, you can challenge yourself by trying the other role (lead or follow), or help us share good vibes with beginners!
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes and shoes that don’t stick too much to the floor. A little personal care goes a long way, i.e. deodorant, mints/gum help keep the dance floor fresh and fun!
What’s the best way to get to the venue?
DVS is a block away from Granville/Broadway: 99 B-line or 50. There’s also plenty of paid and free street parking nearby.
Accessibility Info
Heads up: entering the venue involves a stairwell. No elevator, no automatic doors. All washrooms are all-gender for the night because all washrooms should be as inclusive as our dance floor!
