Pride and Prejudice

Union Theatre Company presents

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
BY KATE HAMILL

ADAPTED FROM THE NOVEL BY JANE AUSTEN

About the show

Regency England. The dawn of the 19th century. The Bennet family estate in Hertfordshire must pass to a male heir, and the Bennets lack one. To save the family from eventual destitution, at least one daughter must make an advantageous match. The clever, outspoken second daughter, Lizzy, is determined never to marry, despite society's pressure. But how does she resist love and stick to her independence plans when the wealthy, mildly handsome, vaguely amusing, and entirely irritating Mr Darcy keeps popping up at every turn?!

A joyful, big-hearted, thoroughly theatrical adaptation of Austen's classic love story, this is Pride and Prejudice for the 21st century.
