Description
Unlock your creativity in this open studio art class for high school students and adults, led by Emmet, a seasoned artist with a BFA from Boston University, an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania, and decades of hands-on studio experience.
Emmet was born in Huntington, Long Island, New York and began taking studio classes at the age of 13. In studio classes the options are wide open for subject and imagination but the building blocks of drawing are based on the traditional values of design reaching all the way back to the renaissance of the Netherlands and Italy. Strong drawing is the foundation for expression and in our studio classes students learn both the whimsy of imagination and the discipline of draftsmanship.
For three hours a class students will explore line, value, color and form as building blocks for more ambitious compositions of nature and aquatic life. There is no set schedule for learning, it is completely self paced and students will have plenty of freedom to choose their own adventure. Materials are provided for a low cost and students will have everything they need to achieve their goals.
Emmet received his BFA from Boston University and his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania.
