The Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center (NBSTCC) is a working conservation and education center open to the public on Navarre Beach, Florida. Founded in 2013 through grassroots community involvement, the NBSTCC's mission is to conserve and protect threatened and endangered sea turtles through community education and partnered research.
As a predominately volunteer-run organization, NBSTCC operates a 2,010-square foot conservation and education center open to the public. The NBSTCC is a working conservation center and home to Sweet Pea, a non-releasable green sea turtle. Unable to return to the wild, Sweet Pea's story shows how human activity impacts these vulnerable species. Guests will enjoy a self-guided tour through our newest conservation education area which includes a 3,000-gallon Stingray Exhibit. You will also explore the Shanna Litterst Education Center featuring saltwater aquariums, interpretive displays, and interactive exhibits, focusing on the conservation of Northwest Florida's unique coastal and marine ecosystems paramount to sea turtle survival. Lastly, you’ll also meet other rescued residents, including tortoises and Diamondback Terrapins.
The staff was very friendly. The talk was very informative (not long at all) Sweetpea is adorable!
