Welcome to Pinehorn — a small town where everybody knows everybody, old grudges run deep, and secrets have a way of making their way around town.
Just outside Pinehorn sits Devonshire Manor, a grand 18th-century mansion that once belonged to the wealthy Devonshire family. For generations, the Devonshires owned more than half the businesses in town and were treated like royalty by Pinehorn's residents.
But after the last Devonshire family members died in the early 1900s, the manor was abandoned. The once-beautiful grounds have become overgrown, the house has fallen into disrepair, and a persistent local legend claims the Devonshires never really left.
Now, Pinehorn's mayor has a plan: restore Devonshire Manor and turn it into a historic bed-and-breakfast that could bring visitors—and much-needed money—to the little town.
Not everyone is thrilled.
Some residents believe the old mansion should be restored. Others think the supposedly haunted property should be left exactly as it is. Add in old family rivalries, business disputes, long-held grudges and secrets that some people would do just about anything to keep hidden...
The mayor has invited the people of Pinehorn to a fundraising gala inside Devonshire Manor to kick off the restoration effort.
And then someone is murdered.
