LORE OF THE SKY FESTIVAL - POP UP COMEDY NIGHT

Get ready for a night of great food, good company, and plenty of laughter at the Lore of the Sky Festival on Thursday 30th July.

The evening begins with a relaxed dinner, giving you time to settle in, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy a few drinks with friends old and new. It’s the perfect way to ease into the night before the entertainment begins.

From 8pm sharp, the mood shifts as our POP-UP COMEDY NIGHT takes centre stage. 

We’ll be welcoming three talented comedians, brought to you by POP UP COMEDY SHOP, each bringing their own unique style and sharp sense of humour. Expect a lively mix of quick wit, relatable stories, and unexpected punchlines—plenty to keep you laughing throughout the evening.

On Thursday, 30th July 2026, Compton Abbas Airfield will host a stand-up comedy show - with three brilliant comedians from television - in one of the most unique venues in the country.

MARKUS BIRDMAN

You might have seen Markus on Britain’s Got Talent, where his performances earned widespread praise from both the judges and the public.

A veteran of the UK comedy circuit, Markus has also performed critically acclaimed solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and comedy festivals around the world.

CAREY MARX

You might have seen Carey perform on BBC One, BBC Two, Channel 4 or Comedy Central.

Carey also has his own show on BBC Radio 4.

He has sold out solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and toured internationally with his stand-up.

GREG WINFIELD

His comedy videos have been viewed more than 40 million times. 

He has also written for BBC Two's Mock the Week and Comedy Central's Roast Battle.

Terms, Conditions & Info

1. Ticket Requirement

All attendees must hold a valid ticket. Tickets must be presented on arrival either digitally or in printed form. Staff reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any person from the site for unsafe, illegal, or disruptive behaviour without refund.

2. Parking & Vehicles

Parking in the evening (after 5pm), is first come first served. 

3. Cancellation or Postponement 

If the comedy night is cancelled or postponed due to circumstances beyond the organiser’s control (including but not limited to extreme weather, site operational requirements, safety concerns, or regulatory restrictions), ticket holders will be notified and options regarding ticket transfers or refunds will be communicated where applicable.

6. Refund Policy

Tickets are non-refundable except in the case of full event cancellation by the organisers.

7. Photography & Filming

Photography and filming may take place for promotional and archival purposes. By attending, visitors consent to the use of their image in marketing and media.

8. Safety & Airfield Regulations

Attendees must follow all safety instructions issued by staff and comply with airfield safety rules. Restricted areas must not be entered under any circumstances.

9. Children

Children under 18yrs are not permitted for the comedy night.

10. Personal Property

Attendees bring personal belongings at their own risk. The organisers accept no liability for loss, theft, or damage.

11. Dogs & Animals

Dogs are permitted only if kept on a lead at all times and under control. Owners must clean up after their animals and consider their needs and requirements.

12. Food & Alcohol

Outside food, drinks and alcohol may not be permitted where licensed premises operate. Staff reserve the right to refuse entry to intoxicated individuals.

13. Health & Safety

Attendees must take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others while attending.
