The experience was GREAT, GREAT, GREAT.. I know you want more feed back than that. I liked the fact you all had a lot more vendors. The sausage stand was very good.. I would suggest a chicken stick or non spicy sausage (for the kids). I suggest a crew to ONLY deal with the Porta Potties and keep the the hand stations filled (water). Those are only suggestions b/c it really was GREAT...Oh the line was really long this year, I was in line for 1hr and 10 mins but that just means it was a great turnout. Thanks for the GREAT TIME!!!
It was a cool little festival. The line for the crawfish was around 1.5 hour wait and the crawfish really didn’t have much flavor to them and all the seasonings but one was empty by the time we got our crawfish. We would attend again but I think they need more than one area to provide the crawfish. The music was awesome and we really enjoyed it as my daughter is in band and enjoyed the NSU students stuff.
We had a blast and we were looking so forward to eating the crawfish. We waited over two hours in line and when we got the crawfish, they were not juicy and they were hard as hell to peel, but we still had a blast with everything else going on….. we do a family crawfish boil in May and ours are so juicy and easy to peel now your seasoning for your crawfish was right on just like ours but they were just hard to peel and they were dry. Sorry.
Taste was great. Pretty spicy. Some of the best I’ve had. I know they were slammed but they were undercooked and so hard to get out of the shells.
Wait time lines really need to improve. At one time it was a 2.5 hr wait. Ridiculous. Could cause a lot of ppl to stop coming. Other than that, it was fantastic.
So much fun & great tasting’ crawfish!
I loved it!! Ready to go back next year
While I am thrilled that more and more people are visiting our beautiful city for festivals. I was happy to see crowds of people waiting for delicious crawfish, I don’t even mind that the end of the line technically started at the beginning and looped around the entire street when we arrived. We knew it would be a good hour or more of waiting in that long line but their crawfis was always worth it. Unfortunately this year the crawfish fell short of spectacular. It was overcooked and way way too spicy. Even my grandson who absolutely loves spicy crawfish has problems eating it. Here’s to hoping they improve next year!
The event and experience was great! The crawfish on the other hand, was not. It was so overcooked that you lost meat because you had to peel the tail off of the meat rather than being able eat it off the tail. When you disconnected the tail from the head, meat was still connected to the head. I'll be attending tjohnny's moving forward.
The line was long but VERY much expected. However reading before hand it sounded like you could only buy crawfish in advance which we did. My husband waited in line for almost 45 minutes just to be told that since he didn’t have a physical ticket he had to get out of line and into another. He did this just to have the email scanned and given a physical ticket. This should have been marketed before hand to clear up confusion but the table serving meals should have a way to scan the emailed tickets to avoid multiple lines. Again the wait in line was fully expected but it almost tripled the time he had to wait to get the food. Everything else was absolutely amazing and we had a great time and all the food was amazing. We can’t wait to come back next year!!
