The Historic SDG Jail was constructed in 1833 and was active until 2002, serving as both a minimum and maximum security facility throughout it's history. The Historic SDG Jail offers guided tours, where you will be accompanied by a knowledgeable tour guide. During the course of the tour you will visit the original courthouse, every cell block, the surveillance room, the exercise yard, the gallows and much more. Along the way, our tour guides will give you every bit of information they know and answer all of your questions!
Attended the last day. Very interesting tour. Lots of information and all questions were answered. Not a “rush through” tour. You don’t really understand being jailed until you see how small the cells are. Would attend again for sure. Will also recommend highly to others.
Fun. Educational 1 hour tour ....Do it ...
Great tour! Very informative and allowed lots of time to take pictures and explore each room.
Great bilingual guide .. very educational
It was a great tour and very informative. Our guide, Sarah, did an excellent job. The only suggestion would be to allow a little more time in each area to read the information posted on the walls and in the display cases.
Amazing experience, very highly recommended. Authentic and Raw, unlike most other jail tours we have completed.
This tour was worth the entrance fee. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
The jail was more than what I expected.
