Series Outline
I. “The Art of the Foundation”: Creating a plan/ Developing your brand
During this workshop we will explore important foundational elements of pursuing an art
career. Some of my talking points will be centered around setting large and small goals,
finding your “why”, creating an action plan and building an authentic brand. I will also share
my story of going from a full time day job to a full time art career and the steps I took to
transition. We will take time to break down the plan I created for myself and spend time
drafting realistic steps for artists to achieve their own specific goals.
II. “The Art of Story Telling”: Finding Your Voice, Building Relationships
and Marketing Your Brand
One of the most important elements of being a successful full time artist is understanding
your own work and knowing how to speak about it. Artists will complete worksheets and
exercises to help them learn the art of communicating about their work. This workshop will
also explore how communication can aid in developing relationships with clients, business
partners, organizations and the artists' respective communities. We will also discuss basic
communication skills, “mixing and mingling” and networking.
III. “The Art of Making Money”: Passive Income, Budgeting, Revenue
Streams & Taxes(Breakdown)
There are several ways artists can make money outside of just selling their artwork.
Most of these potential revenue streams are not so obvious and require a bit of
guidance and creativity. In this workshop I will break down several different ways
artists can obtain multiple streams of revenue (including passive income) and
explain how they can grow them over time. I will also provide resources/ contact info
for a tax expert and financial advisor
