Ticket times were incorrect causing a lot of confusion but event was still really fun and worth the money.
2024 was my second Forever Summer Fest experience. Big fan and intend to continue to attend in the future. The indoor airconditioned venue is appreciated. The food options were excellent. I missed out on the free ice cream, and I hope it is offered again. Some good changes were made from the prior year's event, including moving from the ground floor to upstairs and having the servers clean glassware instead of having self-service cleaning stations throughout. The wheel-spin was fun too. I appreciate all of the effort and coordination that went into the event.
An absolutely incredible selection of some of the world's best beers! I couldn't imagine a better beer festival.
Loved the upstairs location vs the downstairs from the year before. Plenty of wonderful beers to sample, more is better. Would have liked the music to be quieter, my throat was sore the next day from shouting! Looking forward o the next festival!
Location and selection of Beers was fantastic. Most of the setup was great, there were a decent amount of places for people to sit every now and then, the food being outside and downstairs was really cool.
The few things that could be improved are:
1. Spread out the beer tables a bit more to both sides of the room so the lines dont get as mixed up and people milling about next to a line will be more spread out.
2. Mix in the "non beer tables" between the beer tables so that it spreads the crowd a bit. And try to get more random vendors. That is one cool thing about many other beer fests is grabbing a drink and then looking around at other things. The way it was if you were not a drinker it would have been an absolutely boring time.
3. Having one side of music where the DJ haves 35,000,000 speakers was close to unbearable. Trying to walk past them to get food made your ears bleed. It would be better to have two quieter zones on the ends or something so you didn't get out of there and have your head residually pounding... and not from the quantity of drinks.
lots of great breweries. A little slanted to the stout side.
Plenty of space. Better if bathrooms were upstairs.
Music was not good.
Auction had lots of options.
Having a beer list in a brochure or the beers listed under the names on the windows would have helped. It was difficult to know what each brewery had without walking directly up to the table. The event also ran out of water within the first 45 minutes of GA opening and while the issue was eventually fixed, having enough water for all attendees to at least have one -two bottles each without having to wait a half hour plus would have been great.
It's a great event for a great cause. The beer and food vendors were both very well chosen. For the latter, zzq and tbt el gallo came to this event with really great food and price point (zzq for ex had a big sandwich side combo for an event at only 12!!!, which is such a steal given how things are inflated at events and how good it tasted. Tbt el gallo was also good for the money). And of course the guest beers were super good. 3 Floyd's handjee, side project bbt, half acre benthic, hair of the dog Adam were my favorites. Only criticism would be good beers kicking fast and trying to pick and choose which ones to try first before another one runs out, like I feel sorry for anyone missing out on bbt...I got the very last of the barrel btw. maybe time the releases, get more beer hahaha, idk. I'd think the vip would go after the more highly rated stuff so those kegs kick even faster and more miss out so maybe there is a solution to be found there. Oh and the wheel plinko combo was ok but lacked originality, that's a dld thing! All that nitpicky stuff said, why go to every 2 years as the event was really fun and turn out looked good. Wouldn't childsavers want that too? Id def go again next year and the following. And finally, the event space was really cool and was so glad there was an outside area as the weather was some of the best this miserable summer. This was fun, go back to annual
Enjoyed the beers, friendly servers and brewers, and and the fund raising events. Registering to enter before it opened helped a lot as well. Looked for a map of breweries and other vendors but could not locate one but being in alphabetical order definitely helped. Thank you for a great time. See you in two years
The experience was overall great and very enjoyable. The volunteers were friendly and the lines moved quickly.
Some areas for improvement to be even better:
1) Have a paper that states what beers each brewery has. I had to keep cutting the lines to see what each stand was offering. Not all beers are my type so I rather not waste time standing in line for something I'm not interested in.
2) Have better signage for where the food is. I eventually found where the food was sold, but it took stalking people with food to find it.
3) Have more supplies of the freebies or have intervals of restocking. I was incredibly bummed out that the ice cream sandwich samples ran out so quickly. I thought the freezer would be restocked eventually with more goodies and would have gotten a sample at the beginning if I knew it was a 1-time supply.
4) Be more clear about the start time for general admission on the ticket. I thought the event started at 11am and ended up waiting around quite a bit for GA to be allowed in.
