This brilliant film - at turns comedic, touching, and poignant - follows two Sydney drag queens and a transgender woman who journey across the Australian Outback in their battered tour bus named "Priscilla." They're hired to perform a cabaret show and they discover profound self-acceptance, family, and unexpected love along the way.
I love the way the characters are portrayed and tested throughout their journey. Being LGBTQ+ is not an easy thing. I brought my grandchildren and a 13 year old friend of my granddaughter. My grandchildren have been taught acceptance and they are already allys. It sparked a great discussion on the importance of acceptance and inclusion. I’ve seen the movie a few times and it’s one of my favorites. Grew up in the Hippie generation so I think I learned that early in life.
