Erased - Great Mills, MD

Erased, an indie film made in Asheville, NC, is a one-crazy-night drama about Evan Henderson, a man who thinks he has it all, until he is confronted by the now 18-year-old son he chose to abandon at birth. Now he must choose between the business deal that will seal the life of his dreams and a relationship with the son he thought he never wanted.

A tender-hearted drama about the ties that bind us and the strength to grow, Erased will leave you filled with curiosity and hope for the future.

Writer/Director, Missy Bell holds ties to SOMD beginning in 2002 when she began teaching English at Chopticon High School. Eventually moving to direct the Theatre Department at CHS, Missy left teaching to homeschool her own kids, now grown. Through the years, she honed her directing skills into professional theatre and then caught the film bug upon moving to Asheville, NC in 2014. After directing multiple short films, she wrote and directed Erased, her debut feature with a mostly Asheville based team. (include headshot)

Michael Bell move to SOMD in 2002 with his then fiancé Missy, taught Math and Tech Theater at Chopticon High School, worked on base, designed lights for the Newtowne Players, did some photography, discovered cycling, and met many wonderful people during his 11 years living in St. Mary's County. Rolling all that experience into his film work since 2018, he is a director of photography and film producer. Erased is his first feature.

In addition to Missy and Michael's ties to St. Mary's County, you'll spot actress Jamie Burroughs as Adrienne Bledsoe. Jamie is a Chopticon High School grad.

James LePore, our MC for the evening, is featured as a voice actor in the film. You'll catch James's voice on the phone call in the opening credits and first scene.

Featured vocalists on the soundtrack include Jamie Cochran (CHS grad), and Montario Hill (CHS grad, former GMHS music teacher, and current resident of St. Mary's County).

Erased is suggested for mature audiences due to language, brief sexuality without nudity, and non-explicit descriptions of sexual assault.
