Proceeds from Cuffs and Cash Casino night will be gifted to the Emily Anne Weikert Charitable Foundation, created to honor the memory of Emily, whose life was taken from family and friends in 2012.
After graduating from Valley High School in 2005, Emily attended Iowa State University, where she studied finance and French. Graduating at the top of her class in the College of Business, she was selected to be the Student Marshal during the commencement ceremony in 2009. After graduation, Emily worked at CoBank in Denver, Colorado. She took advantage of many outdoor recreational activities that the area offered and spent time with friends and family.
Emily’s life was tragically taken from her by a stalker and former co-worker in a parking ramp as she walked to her vehicle one night in December 2012.
The Emily Anne Weikert Charitable Foundation avidly supports law enforcement in the central Iowa area. The Foundation also provides numerous scholarships to aspiring young students and supports many non-profit organizations in the area with donations.
