We are looking forward welcoming Gonzague Lurton of Chateau Durfort-Vivens to showcase some of Bordeaux’s finest wines alongside. These heavy-hitting fine wines have been expertly paired with a mouth-watering set menu designed by our established Chef Michal.  

From the 14th century, the Durfort de Duras family was one of the major landowners in the Médoc. What was once a hunting lodge on their land in Margaux became, during the 17th century, a winegrowing estate of excellence. In 1758, the Château was given to George Ainslie, wine merchant in Scottish wine, whose last daughter married le Chevalier de Vivens. It’s their son, who added his name to Durfort in 1824. Generally considered a 2nd cru since 1745, the estate was naturally classified so in 1855. Château Durfort-Vivens was acquired by Château Margaux of which Léonce Récapet was then the main shareholder. A few years later, a grandson of Léonce, Lucien Lurton, a great winegrower and defender of the Bordeaux terroir, bought the property back in 1961.

Coming up to 1992 Gonzague Lurton inherited the Winery and estate, his fascination with the business lead him drive it forward with the vision of Purity, Precision, expression and the Margalais Terrior. Biodynamics has been at the fore front of producing since 2009, by 2016 Gonzague had gained bio and biodynamic certifications. Chateau Durfort Vivens, was the first to be doubly certified. The result of Gonzague’s passion has been clear, not only have the soils regenerated but the quality of the wines continue to grow in brilliance and precision. The estate and crops consist of a range or Grape variety’s, with 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8%Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, plus 5400 vines of Muscadelle and 325 vines of Castets.
