Join artist Heather Jay for "Being Trans is Scary," an intimate and powerful live performance of poetry and music. Over the past seven years since coming out, Heather has navigated the often-harrowing and darker experiences of life as a trans woman. This show gives voice to that journey through raw, honest, and unflinching creative expression.
Prepare for an evening of evocative storytelling that explores the vulnerability, fear, and resilience inherent in the trans experience.
The show will be held at Flying Pig Improv, located at 2320 E Douglas Ave in Wichita, KS (at the corner of Douglas and Grove).
Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the performance begins at 7:00 PM.
A Note on the Content: "Being Trans is Scary" is an unfiltered and honest exploration of my personal journey. Please be aware that the poetry and stories in this performance include direct and detailed accounts of sexual assault, domestic violence, suicidal ideation, and drug addiction. My intention is to share a raw and authentic experience, and I encourage you to prioritize your own emotional well-being. Individual warnings will be provided at each sensitive subject.
