As You Like It is a two-act musical adaptation of William Shakespeare’s 1599 play of the same name, originally adapted by Rebecca J. Ennals for San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, with music and lyrics by The Kilbanes and Phil Wong. This production reconfigures the original text into a joyous, raucous musical, exploring ideas of class, gender, and homelessness and uplifting and celebrating queer identities against a modern Pacific Northwestern backdrop.
After the cruel usurper to the duke’s power exiles our heroes to the forest, they find community among their fellow outcasts, discover new things about their identities, and find love in unexpected ways. Hijinks, unsurprisingly, ensue.
There will be an evening performance at 7:00pm on Saturday, August 23rd, and a matinee at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 24th.

Wonderful show and modern interpretation of Shakespeare. It brought a classic play to life. What a great company and cast!!! Two thumbs and two toes up!
Fantastic show! The actors and band were terrific. It was a highly entertaining musical adaption of Shakespeare's play, "As You Like It."
The show was simply amazing. The musicians, the lighting, the transformation of. the stage. It felt like a broadway musical. The actors, oh my, they were brilliant. Thank you so much for putting this show together. It was spectacular.
This was such an incredible performance, from great live musicians to talented and expressive actors and a phenomenal lighting team. Highly recommend!!
Loved the rewrite and found it really easy to follow!
The Star house theater company is incredible, and each show they mount is better than the last... Very inclusive and queer-friendly, excellent acting and fine musicianship, whether it's a show they've licensed from someone else (like today's) or one of their own creations.
