Art in the Garden for Kids
Kids 5-8 years old will have fun creating art using natural materials, paint, and drawing mediums. We will explore different art forms and use nature as our inspiration. All materials are included. Dress for creating art!
Imagination Station and Living Laboratory garden area offer a variety of additional free play opportunities.
Saturdays, 11AM-12 noon
March 7: 3D Tree of Life- Discover trees as sculptures! Walking around the Gardens you’ll see many trees that look like artful sculptures, especially in our bonsai exhibit. We will make our own sculpture inspired by the “Tree of Life” by Gustav Klimt.
April 4: Frame your artwork and pictures at home with a natural frame. We will gather items from the Garden to create a beautiful frame inspired by nature.
May 2: In May the sun really starts to heat up, and we know just what to do! Let’s make a natural suncatcher from items we find in the Gardens. You will explore the Gardens for natural materials that will be used to make a suncatcher you will take home.
Please register by 12pm the Wednesday before class. Family Level members are free.
