Description

Tourism stakeholders, businesses, community organizations, and event planners are invited to attend the 2026 Cornwall & SDG Counties Tourism Summit on April 22, 2026, at Stormont Community Hall.

Running from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., this year’s Summit focuses on leadership, innovation, tourism development, and the evolving digital landscape impacting our industry.

The day begins with networking and a continental breakfast, followed by welcoming remarks and a regional tourism update highlighting current initiatives, collaborative priorities, and the launch of our 2026 Cornwall & SDG Counties Visitor Guide.

Featured sessions include:

Sheli Warren – Leadership Development, offering practical tools to strengthen leadership capacity within tourism organizations.

A Tourism Development Fund update, providing insight into funding opportunities and regional investment priorities.

Dug Stevenson & Trevor Norris – “Just Be Yourself!”. Rural regions can often get caught up in trying to be something they are not. Join Dug Stevenson and Trevor Norris from Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board as they discuss their roadmap to building an accessible, sustainable and affordable destination by embracing the good, bad and sometimes ugly.

Cathy Kirkpatrick – AI Affecting Web Traffic, exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping online visibility and visitor engagement strategies.

Attendees will also participate in an interactive activity, enjoy networking over lunch, and conclude with a collaborative wrap-up session.

“This Summit continues to be an important opportunity for tourism partners to learn, connect, and grow together,” Shauna Baggs, Cornwall Tourism.

“By focusing on leadership, funding, innovation, and digital trends, we’re equipping our industry with the tools needed to remain competitive and resilient.” Karina Belanger, SDG Tourism.

Tourism operators and community partners are encouraged to attend and help shape the future of tourism in Cornwall and SDG Counties.
